Thumbs up New Percocet / Alcolol Question - HELP!

Hello,
I had previously posted a message regarding 'percocet' and alcohol.

I incorrectly said 'percocet' instead of 'immediate release oxycodone', which does not have tylenol in it.

I have been on 'immediate release oxycodone' for a couple of years, for back pain.

I am going to Las Vegas tonight, and am wondering if I will be ok to drink tonight?

I took the oxycodone at 8am this morning.

I will arrive in Vegas around 9pm tonight (same time zone).

Is that enough time to allow me to have just 1 drink? Or should I wait until tomorrow to drink?

All I want is just one Tequila Sunrise.

I know I am not supposed to mix alcohol with oxycodone.

Is there any kind of risk with me having the one drink?

If there is a risk, I can wait until tomorrow. I won't take the oxycodone tomorrow (Sat). Will I be ok to drink tomorrow?

I really wish I could have a drink tonight.

As far as I know my liver is fine. I had a complete blood count done about a year ago and it was fine then. All I have been on is the Immediate Release oxycodone for about 2 yrs. Oh it is 30 mg once a day, in the morning.

Let me know if I will be ok to have one drink tonight (about 12 hrs after I took the oxycodone)?

Or should I wait until tomorrow?

Do I risk mixing the alcohol with Oxycodone (with NO tylenol in it)? Is it still a big risk?

THANKS SO MUCH! I WILL KEEP CHECKING MY EMAIL.

Take care!
The Fisherman

Default Oxycodone/tylenol

Well, question here. I thought both Oxycodone and Hydrocodone had tylenol...

Am I wrong? And, I am under the impression that tylenol is the villain here...wrong?

Thanks for the help,
Sue

Sue ... instant release oxycodone does NOT have acetaminophen in it. It's just pure oxycodone. No apap like hydrocodone. Percocets also contain instant release oxycodone but they have acetaminophen. Perhaps that is what you were thinking of ... the percs.

fisherman ... there shouldn't be any problem with you having a drink tonite. I would suggest that you hold it down to that one though and don't get carried away. Probably wouldn't even hurt to have two if they aren't doubles. Just use your head.

Congratulations on being able to hold yourself to just one pain pill per day for two years. You are the exception to the rule my friend. Most people are not successful with this like you. You should be just fine tonite so long as there aren't any other medical conditions you aren't sharing with us. God bless.

Default Final question:

Thank you, everyone, very much for the replies and information. I really appreciate it! I will have just one drink tonight.

*** ONE FINAL QUESTION:

Am I going to be OK to take my Instant Release Oxycodone tomorrow morning, around 8am (if I have the one drink tonight)?

I wasn't sure if the alcohol will still be in my system tomorrow morning, and if it is going to hurt me if I take the pill in the AM.

That's my final question, I promise!

Thank you again to everyone!
