Mallinckordt vs. Watson vs, whatever... hi all...i finally found a doctor who was willing to prescribe me some pain medication...there are so many different generics for them. is one more effective than the other??? i've heard good things about watson but isn't mallinkcordt also an established company!? then there are even more...generics are supposed to be exactly the same as the "original", no? has anyone here a "favorite" manufacturer? buying the brand name is so expensive and every pharmacist tells me it's supposed to be the same. "supposed to be"...well, is it or isn't it??? I am confused.
please help.
thank you!

I would just go with the generic. Way cheaper. I believe you were talking about the script being for percocet, so it'll be oxycodone. Oxycodone is oxycodone..... manufacturer isn't important as long as it's coming from a legitimate pharmacy.
I'm glad that you finally found a reasonable doctor. I knew you would... LA actually has an abundance of "liberal" doctors, so it was just a matter of time. I actually live in NH right now- where you came from? I'll be Cali dreaming once the cold starts rolling in, around a month from now. Enjoy. -
thanks for your kind words...this doctor wasn't so nice and i don't want to back to him...where are these "liberal" doctors??? lol...i just need my medicine. i'm not a drug dealer, for goodness sake...
i miss new hampshire a bit...so pretty... -
Sorry, no, generics are not all the same, and they are not even the same as the original name brand med. Generics are allowed to differ from the name brands, in the dosage of the active ingredient by as much as plus or minus 20%. They also only have to show that the active ingredient is Bioequivelent, not exactly the same.
That said, yes, Watson does have great meds with good quality control. However, if you do a websearch, you will find many forums with people complaining about meds from the other one you mentioned, they do not have good quality control at all. I have tried their meds as well and might as well have been swallowing breath mints. verwon@gmail.com
My information is not guaranteed correct. I do not get them right all the time, but I do enjoy the hunt~ -

I've been following your posts, an was wondering how your doing now and what's the newest scoop on the doc and meds. I have been through something similiar recently. I have chronic back pain, and wasnt being treated accordingly so I sought the help of a diff doc. It took some time to find a good one and now my pain is finally under control and my depression has also lifted. What a diffrence it can make just in your daily living routines or activities. Let me know how your doing hun!
