Default From Lexapro to Paxil...Feeling Crazy

Hey guys. Over the past few days I have reading your Lexapro Withdrawl posts. I need some help...reassurance. About 2.5 weeks ago my GP took me off Lexapro 15 (was on 5 months) and put me back on paxil Cr 25. There was no weening. It was quit Lex start Paxil. On Friday, I began feeling really agitated. I was shaky all day Sat and Sunday. Could this be withdrawl...even though I began another med? How long will this last? Is this going to get better? Anybody else been here? I am really feeling end of rope here...could use friends, reassurance, suggestions and HOPE!!!

My doctor put me on 20 mil of Paxil almost 5 years ago after my mother passed away. It caused me to gain a lot of weight so he switched me straight to 10 mil of Lexapro. Took it for about a month, then I decided I didn't want to be on any of the SSRI's anymore so I just stopped taking and had no withdrawel symptoms whatsoever. None during the switch either. Guess I was really fortunate not to have any.

This is a grat article featured in the Washington Post this weekend.

"Looking At The World Through Paxil-Colored Glasses."

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...7.html?sub=new

It discusses the "need" for Paxil, but also the side effects including weight gain.

My doctor did the same thing to me. I was on Lexapro for six months, and was taken off of Lex and put on Paxil. I'm in a constant state of dizziness and I feel detached from the world. Are you feeling these same symptoms?

Does this dizziness also include mild and temporary naseau? A feeling of pressure in your head or face?

    ---

I have taken : Paxil, Lexapro, Xanax, and Lithium

    Currently: 450mg Eskalith CR (Lithium)

I was mis-diagnosed for 3 years. They thought I had Generalized Anxiety Disorder with a Major Depressive Episode. The real problem was Bipolar Disorder.
    Quit Lexapro cold-turkey Dec 22, 2005.
Ask me anything, nothing is off-limits.

I do experience nausea at times, and I contribute the pressure to my sinuses. I've had sinus trouble all of my life.
