Default Klonopin prescription 0.5mg

[?]Ok, so this is what my dr gave me. How many days should I take this? He told me 3 a day for 10 days and that was it. Will I experience anything like withdrawl from this short amount of time? I need to know before I get in over my head with this. I am at 7 days clean of opiates and I don't need this? Any advise would be appreciated![?]

I'm not a doctor, but you may experience some w/d from 1.5 a day if you haven't been taking any at all. I've taken clonazepam before, and I didn't really experience w/ds but I was used to taking huge amounts of xanax. If I were you I would follow his directions, but I would take them AS NEEDED. If you don't feel anxious or upset, don't take one, wait until your next dose, or cut it in half. This is a potentially addictive drug, and if you have an addictive personality, the last thing you need is a benzo problem. He is giving you a ten day supply, but they CAN last you longer. And if you have concerns, don't hesitate to call your doctors office tommorrow and at least talk to a nurse or leave a message. They will get back to you, and I'm sure the last thing your doctor wants is to see addicted to klonopin. Just remember, this drug is a narcotic, don't double up on them...and keep in mind that you are only taking them to help through the w/ds. They are stronger than you think, and they take a while to really hit you

Thank you sooo much! I really needed to hear that because now with 7 days opiate free the last thing I want is to start back at day 1. Thank you!

Guys do you think I should stop taking the kilonopins now? Or do I do as the doctor says and finish the script! I don't need a new addiction!

I would do what your doctor says, unless you feel like you don't need them anymore. You know yourself the best, but i'm sure your m.d. prescribed them for a good reason. But-- you have been clean for like 9 days, so you may not even need anymore help with the w/ds. There is no law that says you can't cut back to one or two a day and see how you feel. If you feel like you are getting dependent or have any questions, I would give a call to your docs office. You are a strong girl, you definitely don't want to pick up anymore addictions, but I think that's why your doc gave you a 10 days supply of a relatively mellow dose

Hi Clueless,
Wow, it would be really hard for me to have Klonopin around. I threw out about twenty Xanax the day I quit opiates, though I learned later--duh-- that they would've helped with w/d. Nonetheless, I didn't need another addiction, either.
Maybe keep one or two Klonopin for PMS, and flush the rest?

I haven't taken them since 10:30am yeasterday morning! Not even to sleep! They are sitting on my night stand! I stare at the bottle and remember how I got myself here in the first place.

I was just looking in the mirror for about 20 mins (I know sound crazy right)[?] but, I realized that this is the first time I have know the clean June in 5 years. Thats a long time. I want my life back. My social and emotional life back! Granted I might need to find some new friends! All in time good things will come!

Maybe i'm kidding myself to think I can keep a bottle of pills. I am not thinking addiction to them but in a way why hold on? I can't bring myself to flush them. I keep thinking how about that one time I might need them! AHHHHHH!

June, I dunno. Some substances tempt me more then others, that's for sure. And I DID regret tossing the Xanax. Maybe just-- well maybe just don't take them everyday. And then if you DO start taking them everyday: flush them, I say!
I like your encouraging people to keep busy. That helps me more than anything....

I really was not even thinking about them until last night, they are sitting on the nightstand still! I was tempted to pop some last night just because I couldn't sleep! I got thru it without them! I took Tylenol PM (really did nothing)! I woke up so proud of myself. I was tired b/c I only got like an hour of sleep but hey I did it.

Not so clueless,

Alright I offically suck! I had a stressful couple of hours and took a klonopin. I was on the phone fighting with car insurance company and I feel like they were pushing me towards it! It was like the chic on the phone was saying "go grab the bottle and take 5". She pissed me off so bad that I got a headache. Instead of taking tylenol I grab the klonopin!

Not so clueless,

Your doctor prescribed for a reason, so don't feel too guilty. But don't take 5 at a time!

I know I just know I didn't need to take it! I think it was just a reflex. Thats how I delt with problems for so long that it was the first thing that popped into my mind! I don't feel as bad now b/c it did calm me down and my headache did go away! I only felt like **** right after I swallowed it b/c I knew I shouldn't have! At some point i'm going to need to calm and relax myself in other ways! Thank you though! You made me feel better! My boyfriend said the same thing!
