Default Inability to think, upset stomach

Hello,

I stopped taking Lexapro last Friday cold turkey. I have been extremely nauseated and emotional, but knew that was probably from withdrawal. Last night, however, I was certain I was having some kind of mini-stroke!

I had an interview with a band last night and as I'm sitting on the tour bus across from the lead singer, I didn't have a single thing to say. I couldn't remember the band members names, who they were touring with, the name of their album, nothing.

I had studied it all on the ride up there, but sitting across from him my brain was a clean slate. I couldn't seem to form a complete thought. Thank God my husband was with me and started throwing some questions at him from a fan perspective (he's a mechanic). I eventually just started asking general questions that I had asked Lacuna Coil during a previous interview last month. I know that lead singer thought I was insane!

I started searching for the withdrawal side effects of Lexapro and came upon this site.

How long will this memory loss/inability to form a cohesive thought, last?

Even today I am still "out there". As my six-year-old once said (much to our delight) "My mouth's trying to talk, but my brain has nothing to say!"

Please let me know your thoughts. I just hope I remember I was on this site![xx(]

Lorie

Hey Lorie!
I also take Lexapro and have been told by my doc not to EVER quit cold turkey. Have you thought about asking your doctor about tapering off this med? Also, how long have you been taking it, what strength were you taking? I have been on 10 mg. for a little over a year due to a divorce. Last summer I tried to get off and quit cold turkey. This only lasted 3 days because I felt like I had a terrible case of the flu. I tried tapering and did go off, but depression came back so I got back on it. Anyway, just a thought. Good Luck!
