I moved and I DESPERATELY need a new doctor! HELP!

hi everyone...

i just found this fourm and i'm glad i did. i just moved from new hampshire to los angeles. my doc of 4 years(!) says he would love to help but can't call in percocet for me...so i need to find a new doctor. i've called around but so far, nobody wants to prescribe me percocet??? i am going to run out in a few days and i'm scared. i've had a hip replaced and my knees have been giving me horrific pain. i wake up every time in pain until i take my medication.

can someone PLEASE help me find a doctor in the los angeles area that is going to do this for me? i dont care if i have to travel to another area. i know i won't be able to sleep anymore once i run out and will be in constant pain. please someone help me find someone. i am so anxious writing this right now b/c i know i will run out in a few days. PLEASE help!!!

Sorry to here your problem but i can tell you for sure if you call a doctors office and ask over the phone if they percribe percs they will tell you to go blow they think that you are an addict and that you are shopping the only way to find out is to go to a doctor that does pain management or physical medicine or some thing like that and maybe they will give them to you or try something new first then give them to you later but dont ever call and ask for a narc buy name to a doctor you never seen before that has addict written all over it take it from a pro ex-doctor shoper.

hi and thanks so much for the reply. however, i have the now empty prescription of my percocet to prove that i'm not a junkie. my doctor is also willing to fax over the x-rays, etc. to prove that i have sustained these injuries. this is an extremely helpful medicine, and i can't believe that nobody here wants to help me. what should I do?? Welcome to the club! I also have chronic pain, and it seems like whether you have legite pain or not, or automatically labeled an addict! I wish I could help you, but I too, am struggling to find a doctor who will help me! I have 2 torn herniated discs and my current doctor will only give me 1 5mg percocet 4x daily. Ive been thru epiderals and all with no availability! What will we do??
