I have been on this drug for several years now. Like most of you, I had no idea it would be such an ordeal to "kick it," mainly because doctors love to say that you don't become dependent on it and it's not "habit forming." BS! That's just medical CYA and rhetoric. I feel like a heroin addict! (and it's given me more understanding of junkies withdrawl issues!)

I have tapered and am trying to use Ativan to manage my mood swings and anger, but I'll probably just get hooked on that!

Suicidal ideation is creeping in and I want to lash out all the time.

I wanted to get off Lex because sex has become impossible and that isn't fair to my wife...or to me...but this is terribly difficult...

Ask to be changed to Wellbutrin or something, Lexapro sounds like a horrible pill, so many problems associated with it.
