Default I dont know where to begin

I have been reading the forums for the last 3 weeks, and basically just lurking about. I have been abusing my prescription medication and always run out of 7.5 vicoprofen .

Im sitting here right now drinking beer in hopes to let the WDs be a little less , I do have a valid condition, Rheaumatoid arthritis...I have been taking tramadols to begin with the WDs it worked yesterday , but today i am full blown WDs regardless of the Tramadols, so i have decided to abandon these pills due to they dont do anything for me but make me feel spacey...im on 48 plus hours of no vicoprofen .im in the process of changing meds from enbrel to a diffrent infusion med.

basically i wake up and take 2 vico's and take 5 in the pm after work, and 2 more before bedtime, im having the hot cold feelings sweaty palms skin crawling and have noticed that the vico does not do anything for me anymore. and i dont want to step up to something stronger.

i have to much to look forward to and dont want the possibility of losing these.

I dont know what to do? where to begin? I feel like i have to get off these things to turn my life around, yet i also have a Knee surgery coming early next year. I cant take the knee pain as my arthritis is progressing ...

    im stuck?

beer is helping right now and i did sleep with minimal interruptions last night without RLS, i know this will happen eventually as the days go on, I just wished i was back to where i was 5 years ago on motrin and heatpacks

I also have RA, deg disc disease, have had five knee operations, the list goes on. I was taking 30 30mg oxy a day and in a wheelchair at one time. When we get addicted to pain meds we can't tell what our real pain level is because the addiction is so painful in itself. First thing is you need to get off the narcotic pain meds and then you can best determine your true pain and not pain caused primarily by the drug dependence. Today I don't take anything narcotic at all and it's because I did what I just described. You may very well need strong pain meds. It's impossible to say until you go through this process so you will be able to clearly see your situation. Go to google and search the Thomas Recipe. This will help you detox at home in the most relatively simple manner. Lots of people use this method. Then we can figure another route for you in dealing with your RA and knees. I am here daily. Let me know how this is working for you. God bless.

    Hi Robert,

how do i go about asking the doc for the benzo's for the Thomas recipie?

well i have been 72 hours wo narcotics and had to work today, loose stools clamy skin the whole nine yards, im having a lot of anxiety right now . more so than withdrawls

Im very thankful to God that I have been able to sleep relatively well the past few days and hopefully i will again tonight...i actually felt a little bit better at the end of the day today and could actually get semi excited about certain things...though it quickly faded away, I had to walk alot today as my job in property management requires me to deal with plenty of people and building issues, im just glad it went ok today, im still sweaty and clamy, i finally am able to eat something ,thank GOD!!!!

    and thank all of you!

    Hi bg
I just wanted to cheer you on a bit.I have been where you are at right now.
and understand what you are going through...
I was addicted to oxycontin and vics.
I went through the withdrawals just as you are, you can do it. just hang in there and take it day by day...
    Talk to you soon, Melinda

I don't know what kind of relationship you have with your dr but I have found it wise to tell the truth to the dr. It isn't their job to judge us morally but to help us medically. If your dr has a problem with helping you I would point that out. I doubt that the dr would be against the valium as the Thomas Recipe suggests if he understands. Print it and take it with you to see him. Let him see that you only need the benzos for a few days. That is the key to only ask for what the Thomas Recipe calls for. It doesn't say to get 30 xanax bars with five refills. It says to take valium for maybe four days. Very few drs would object to that plan if you are honest and sincere. Good luck and God bless.

    Question bg666

Just a thought! Do you take any supp's to help with joint lubricity for the RA? Glucosamine/ Condriton? even MSM? If not, you should.....The supps will lubricate your joints which reduces friction inflimation. This can in turn, help reduce the pain. Obviously supplements won't cure the problem or even kill the pain but, they WILL help. My mom has RA and swears the supp's help allot. Hubby takes them to...Good Luck to you and God Bless...Peace...Erin

I went backwards, got a script of vicoprofen on 11-4 ,went thru that, now i have darvocet(they suck) but work. I am in the grip of these god awful pills and really want to get off of these, even though i know they will have to give them to me once i get my knee surgery...

I spoke with my primary care Doc yesterday and told him the truth i told him i wanted to get off of these pills and was scared to death of going thru WDs...and we sat in his office for a long time discussing the suboxone and him referring me to a doctor in the network.unfortunately my appt is not until dec 18th, I was up front with my PCP and he gave me a script of darvocet which should last till close to my appt date,I am on the cancellation list with the sub doc and hope to get in sooner than the 18th...

this sucks, the meds do nothing now but make me sweat and feel fatigued
since they switched me to darvocet last week i feel like i am having mild WDs , im not to sure?

i just want to come off these and soon

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
