Hi, I just want to say to all of you I've read so much and have alot of respect for you and what you are going through... I have a important question so please anyone who can respond as fast as you can.. I am a millitary spouse and I have gotten addicted to hydrocodone 10 mg, I take approximately 90mg daily! I found out last week I was pregnant, I read alot about withdrawl making you miscarry so I tried to taper down and got down to 40mg a day and that was starting to make me withdrawl... and than I ran out... I have about 20 pills of methadone 10mg... I have read that several OBGYNS use that for withdrawling pregnant woman and it is safe. However, they use it all the way till 2 trimester somtimes all the way through and the baby gets addicted... MY question is...How much methadone could I take and how long to just get off of the hydrocodone and ovoid addiction to the methadone....I do NOT want to take meds during my pregnancy! Please someone!!!???

Please be honest with your obgyn and s/he will instruct you as what to do. I took hydros all through my pregnancy due to very bad back issues and my daughter was fine. I wouldnt add another drug to your system.

Right now, I'm in hydrocodone withdrawals. But they're prescribed for pain.

I was addicted to methadone when i was a teen (17) until i was 20.

Methadone withdrawals were 1,000,000 x's intense as these hydrocodone withdrawals.

But, Hydrocodone is more likely to be abused than methadone is. So if you haven't taken the methadone a long time. GET OFF OF IT. The withdrawal from methadone made me want to die, Literally.

Hydrocodone is more abusive because the effects go away and you need more and more. Methadone wasn't like that. I took 1-2 pills per day, and even i took the 2nd pill rarely. The effects lasted up to 24 hours, BAM... 1 pill gave me my FIX without me wanting more and more. But the withdrawals are the downside of Methadone. Good drug, Bad consequences when it's time to go off them.

You will be weened off them if you get them prescribed. Which is the only reason is got off Methadone. I told my mother i had a methadone addiction that i was buying off the street. She was a loving mother for helping me. I couldn't get prescribed them, But she was prescribed Methadone for 2 years before my methadone addiction started. So she gave me 1 of hers for about 2 months, then half of one for 3 months, Then she cut the lil pill into 4 pieces and gave me 1 piece for about 4 months. I went off easily.

And i noticed i was addicted when i had taken 1 methadone a day for about 2 weeks, i went without one for a day, and my muscles locked up and i couldn't walk or sleep.. It's a quicly and highly addictive pill.

They used a different form for drug addicts to get them clean. YET, It's more addictive than herion and other drugs they use methadone treatment for.

I DO NOT AGREE WITH THEM USING METHADONE TO TREAT DRUG ADDICTS. But it sometimes works.

As for me, I can't afford a methadone clinic. Rehab centers never helped me. I have to go through the hydrocodone withdrawals cold turkey. I have to try and calm myself down with Flexorel, and take Adderall (prescribed) to give me my Phsical and mental strength that the hydrocodones gave to me.
