hydro addiction

i was wondering if anyone out here could help me. i have been taking hydro 10/325 for about 6 months now and my use has steadily increased to the point where i am now scared and want to stop. i was in a car accident and was prescribed the hydro for back pain. now, the pain is pretty much gone but the need for the pills is not. no one knows about it...not even my husband. i just started to realize i am really addicted and i am so scared! what should i do? i tried going cold turkey and got really bad withdrawls--hot/cold flashes, leg twitches and just all around feeling bad. is there a way to taper off them? should i lower my dose a little each day? i am currently taking about 10 a day. i am so upset with myself. any help would be really appreciated! i feel like i am all alone and so scared to tell my husband for fear that he'll be mad. the doc just keeps prescribing them too so that's why i was thinking i could taper off. anyone have any ideas? thanks so much!

Hi Jenny: You need to follow a strict detox plan.Try going from 10/day to 6-8 and do that for at least a week then drop it down a pill a week.If you can take the time to detox and stay on it without cheating then you can do it.Good luck and let us know how your doing....Dave

thanks dave! after a week taking 6, what shoud I do the following week? 4 a day? i have the time to do this, so i hope it works. will i get any of the withdrawl symtoms? thanks again!
