Husband's addiction I know in the past he has taken lorecet. He was supposedly clean and then I found what I think is oxycodone. Is this more potent than lorecet? I guess I am wondering if he has had to step up to something more powerful.... -
Lorecet is a weak pain killer with the opiate being hydrocodone.Other names for hydrocodone products are vicodin, loratab, hydro's.The pain killing strength is a little stronger then a Tylenol #3 or 30mgs of codeine.
Oxycodone is found in percocet, percodone and is also in sustained release oxycontin.Oxycodone is a little stronger then morphine when taken orally as it has a bit better bio-availability then morphine. If injected it is about half as strong as morphine....Hope this helps....Dave -
ocean,
Lorcet is a class 3 narcotic pain med. It is a combination of hydrocodone and acetamenophen. Mpvt suggests that it is a weak pain killer. It may be a step below oxycodone (class 2), but it is still very strong. And it is also very addicting. Brett Favre was addicted to this pain med. He had seizures from taking the med. Heath Ledger was taking hydrocodone along with other narcotics when he overdosed. Dave I really think you are playing down the potency of this med. You claim that oxycodone is stronger than morphine. And by the way oxycodone also comes in liquid form. Morphine can be combined with other molecules to form very potent pain meds (hydromorphine). I am not sure where you are getting your info from, but so be it. Please don't take it the wrong way, but I think you should be careful with your info, unless you are a medical doctor. God Bless
