eek:Hey everybody. Oprah is doing a show today on a family who do herion together. They are about to talk about why they don't get help. The family is a mother and father who look to be in their 40's and 2 teenage boys. Unreal. If you get a chance maybe you can watch it or log onto oprah.com. Lisa Ling is the reporter, and she does fabulous work on reporting. they are using it for pain management, the parents. The kids are saying they been around it so long that they don't know any other way,not for any specific reason. This is so sad but very real all over the world. They just admitted that they are doing it just to stop the detox phase(the W/D's). They currently live in a shelter.
This is taking place in Richland County,Ohio. An addiction specialist from UCLA is on now,the father spent 30,000 on H this past year so far. They are saying that it costs to much money for help and Oprah is saying hey what about the money you use to get the dope. The kids steal and sell the stuff to buy it and the parents do odd jobs to buy it. The father was put on pain pills and then found that the herion was cheaper to buy than the pills when he no longer had his own script. Also they are saying the herion is much stronger than the pills and more addicting, and harder to get off of. I never did herion I was addicted to oxycodone.THE POWER OF ADDICTION.


Robert and Melinda: Hi guys, the Dr. is starting me on subutex tomorrow. He's giving me enough until my next appointment which is 10/13/08 but remember I am switching Dr's to the treatment facility and can't get in until the 23rd. I think I should have enough because they still want me to take the 20mgs which you know I do not do. I haven't told them I wasn't going to come anymore yet as I don't know how things will be with the new Dr. So I figured I would tell them I have enough to wait a couple weeks as they said I might not have to be seen every month and could save the 150.00. I will let you know how I feel on it. Tody I really felt like ********************. Hot and cold sweats,vomting ,dizzy, so I took 2mgs extra of the sub and I am starting to feel a little better. I think I am still detoxing , I don't know. One day at a time. Actually one hour at a time.

P.S. Melinda I took the benadryl and melatonin when I was in rehb and when I got out for a couple of months, it worked ok I guess ,How do you feel on it? I think it would work better now because my dopamine levels are better.

lisa Ling's addiction report is on Nightline tonight also at 8pm eastern time. They did mention the med suboxone.

I have never been a good sleeper.sometimes my mind just wont shut down,
so if i get 4 or 5 hr a night i feel lucky.but the benadryl,or melatonin and valerian root seen to help to get me to sleep.so for that im thankful...
by morning i cant tell that i have taken them.
sorry to here you feel bad today,are you trying to work feeling that way,

Oh yes I tried to finish the day but I had 2 colors and cuts coming in tonight and I had to reschdule them. I have to be at the resturant tom,thru thursday so I had to come home and rest and try to get rid of the sweats and the dizzies. I am happy you found that stuff to help you at least fall asleep, now we just have to figure out how you can stay asleep. Maybe some chammolie (sp?) tea with honeyand then take it with the benadryl and melatonin. I don't know quit yet,offhand. I think I need a sliver here come the dizzies again.

Het sweetie, that's great that your are sleeping better. It sure makes for a better day.

I am still a little under the weather I think it's still wd's. It's only a couple weeks but who knows,could be the change in seasons. I struggled but made it with the help of the sub which I hate to say, I need help cutting down,it's difficult.

I am so pissed right now at that flav-ice chick, she's so disrespectful I think. I never have shot back at someone but whoo her last 3 posts set my tone. Trying to calm down and I saw your message and it helped. She thinks this is a joke, she's to young. She'll find out the hard way unfortunately.

I was laughing when i seen it,couse if you read the hole thing you could see we had a little blow out over it,but your right,i feel really bad for her in a year from now,but maybe she will come back then and we can help her.
Thank god for the sub,I think it will work great for you,I just wasent smart enough to do that.I guess i like to do things the hard way...but i made it.
