Default Which helps the pain?

it may be a state law in new jersey but you are limited to the quantity prescribed in a 30 day period:

severe back pain:

have been on percocept 10/650
darvocet 10/650

thinking of asking dr. to try the vicodin, whats the max doasage and how many should you take between doses and per day

thanks

Percocet is stronger than vicodin (hydrocodone). You would be better off on a sustained release opiate like ms contin or oxycontin.Quick acting opiates like percocet or darvocet are only useful for short term acute pain.Everyone gets a high tolerence to them if you take them chronically.Good luck.....Dave

thanks for the info dave..how do i ask the Dr. without sounding like a drug addict (knowing those two have bad raps). Do i just say i have built up a tolerance and when i went back on darvocet they were so weak i went thru withdraw; hot flashes, etc, sick. and had to take 6 day instead of the 3 day he pres. I was on 4 a day 10/650 percocept. This is all true i wouldnt lie to him and he is very cool. What dosage and frequency do you think would be appropriate?
Thanks Lew

Darvocet (propoxyphene) is a useless opiate and isn't prescribed much anymore.Tell the doctor that the darvocet didn't help at all.Go from there.....Dave
