help me please get off the lexapro!

hi all
please someone help me. I have been on lexapro for about 1 and a half years. I hate it. But Ive always been to afraid to stop taking it cause what I read about the side effects from others. Well, now my hear palpatations are so bad that I cant sleep and its so scary. I am afraid they are gonna kill me. I went to the ER and I had a abnormal EKG although they sent me home because they said the heart beat was ok. I dont have insurance at the time so I cant go to the doctor.
I want to start weening off. How do I begin? I take 10 mg. Please let me know so I can start. I miss one dose and I go insane. I hate this med!

why dont you try reducing the dose?
did you talk to your doctor about this?

you have to talk to your doctor - you aren't taking a very strong dose so you should be able to get off of it

not always . was also on 10mg like you as well but was on it for only a month . stopped it very adruptly nearly 5 weeks ago and i am still suffering from the withdrawal symptoms . i have been having these really severe tingling burning sensations all over my body and numbness in my face , both of my hands and feet for the last couple of days now which is definitely getting much more worse . told my so called psychatrist about this and he told me that it is all in my head like everything else . am afraid that you hooked on it for the rest of your life my dear and there is no turning back .
