Default help

I'vs been on Painkillers for almost 3 years now and im on day 2 of detox/withdrawl. I've gotten off of meds twice before but always seem to relapse. I took a 8mg suboxone b/c my withdrawls have gotten sever now. i have to take at least 6 hydro 10's to even feel anything. I know i have to stop because of my family and my health. I dont want to destroy my liver anymore than i have. Do you guys have any suggestions on how to handle the withdrawl process? Anything will be helpfull.............[?][?][?][?]

Hang in there!!!!It takes 4-5 days to get over the worst physical withdrawls.Get some immodium ad for stomach and bathroom issues. Also Advil gel caps for aches and pains, tylenol pm for sleep and gatorade lots of gatorade to re-hydrate you and for energy.Your going to have really bad flu like symptoms for 4-5 days but once you start to feel better you really start to recover fast.Good luck and stick with it if you can.If you find yourself not able to do it this way then look into buprenorphene(suboxone, subutex) at www.suboxone.com and read up on it.They have a doctor locator on their site so use it and get a list of prescribing doctors in your area and start phoning for an appointment. This drug has been a major breakthru in the recovery process for addicts and is well worth looking into.Good luck.....Dave

If you have enough suboxone then you could break the pills up and wean down in a week or so from the suboxone therefore by passing the withdrawls from the other opiates you were taking.Buprenorphene(suboxone) is an exellent drug to use for weaning. It is most effective when used for a short time.Hang in there. The suboxone will virtually eleminate your withdrawls....wean down with the suboxone.....Dave
