Default General and Social Anxiety,Depression?

I have had anxiety practically all through my life and Im 35 now.I am to the point now that being 35,single and being a male I have to get rid of this Social Anxiety. My Doctor prescribeAmild tranquilizer and they don't help with Social and General anxiety. My Doctor prescribed me Zoloft.I started with 50 mg's the first week. This is the only week I have felt a benefit from the Zoloft. Then I was taking 100 mg's for 6 weeks. It did not help.I am now taking 200 mg's of Zoloft and I am into my 9th week and I don't feel the Zoloft kicking in.I was wondering should I give up on this Zoloft or does it take longer then a full 8 weeks to feel the good benefits???Im just extremely frustrated because I thought I would be feeling better by now.I got rid of the bad side affects except I have been feeling a little drowsy the last couple of days.I was wondering basically does Zoloft take longer to start working compared to Paxil or Prozac???

The Zoloft site says it should only take 8weeks to feel the full effects, so you may need to talk to your doc and try something else.

I also thought that 8 weeks was way to long to go without any benefits from the Zoloft. For OCD it is suppose to take longer.Clear to moderate improvement in 8 to 10 weeks and 10 to 12 weeks to feel the full benefits of Zoloft.Maybe I unknowingly have OCD?I did yesterday start to feel calmer so it might be kicking in now.Actually today I begin my 9th week of 200 mg's of Zoloft.I think it just may take longer for me to start feeling better.I sure hope so.

I would give it another week or so and if you see no improvement, you might need to try something different. SSRI's don't work for everyone and neither does Zoloft.
