I am very confused..... is Vicodin the same as Hydrocodone the same as Norco the same as Percodan/percocet... what is the real name of these opiates??? I have been prescribed Maxidone..... Generic Norco.... Hydrocodone... Vicodin HP and ES.... and many many more names that i can't remember.... it has all been for pain..what the heck is the difference??? Thanks for your time

Yes Vicodin and Hydrocodone are the same...there all the same as far as i know. Just a different number of mgs.

In case you havent gotten an answer yet...here are the differences:

Vicodin is Hydrocodone (5mg) and Acetaminophen (this might vary I think (750mg?), but usually 500mg)

Norco is Hydrocodone (10mg) and Acetaminophen (this can also vary but usually 325mg)

Percocet is Oxycodone (5mg?) and Acetaminophen (500mg I think)

Percodan is Oxycodone (5mg?) and Aspirin (not sure on the mgs)

I know that Vicodin ES is Extended Release but not sure on the HP.

No idea what Maxidone is.
