I'm on week 3 of Lexapro and the only side effect I have experienced (besides sleepiness in week 1) is excessive "extra-stinky" farting. About 1 hour after I take my 10 mg pill, the flatulance begins and stays with me for a good 8-10 hours. The smell is wretched and my fiance complains each night before bed when I rip farts (sometimes 3-4 at a time) and lock her into the "dutch oven" (i.e. - whenever you fart while in bed and pull the covers over her head, not letting her out until all smell ceases). There has even been times when the smell is so bad that while I perform the "dutch oven", I get a whiff of it myself, resulting in a "dutch treat" (i.e. - the unexpected result of a dutch oven gone bad). I guess the side effects could be much worse from what I read from some of you on this board, so I will not complain. If any of you experience this symptom, let me know. I know it is not my diet because I have been staying away from Mexican and Chinese food since I started because I was worried about weight gain from the Lexapro.

I had farts when I started on Cymbalta! They went away though. You're too funny. Burn a match or light a nice Yankee Candle. Don't torture your fiancee.
