i have just discovered this forum and i too have had an addiction that i am not proud of, but it was with the help of an angel that i got through my 10 year addiction to high dose pain killers.
he is my hubby.....
tell some one very close to you because you need that person to be your back bone while you are weak and the pain, sweats, iritability, sleepless nights, chills, cramps and darhia only seems to last for a few days and whats that to a life time of feeling well and awake.
deep hot baths every day and lots of good books and films will help alot. its a change of life style you are going through right now and you need to re-learn to live again, a whole new way of life......
think about it......
if you want to live and you want to re-join the living then the quitting is well worth the doing.
i beg you to stick to it and keep a reminder of the way you were while on the pills, i have a picture of me when i was really ill because of the pills, i keep it on my fridge....
drink plenty of water and eat lots of fruit, veg and salads...dont take suplements like vitamins, they dont help.
keep talking about how you want life to be and how bad it was when u were on the pills, and remember once an addict always an addict, just as an ex-smoker cant even take a puff off a friends ciggy u cant go over the counter to buy a pill that has anything more than paracetamol or ibupofen in it or u will be right back where you started and who wants to go through that all over again.....................
if youwant any more info i am happy to help there aint much i dont know about addiction...sadly...
Keep on fighting the fight and come out with a medal my friend.
