Well, I have hit 18 days since I quit the subs, and I am FINALLY stating to get back to "normal".
Man, I think that every single side effect that is possible from quitting sub, I have experienced. Nothing major, but quite a bit of mild to medium stuff.
I am so glad that I ventured onto this site a little over two months ago. I had just started
Suboxone after about one and a half years of hydro addiction. The last six months or so were very piggy. 8 to 12
lortabs per day, everyday. Sometimes more, sometimes less. Just a real garbage can attitude. I tried to quit the hydro C/T,(lasted 26 hours) tried to taper the hydro,(about 50 times).
The suboxone helped me get off the pills. But I am going to tell everybody one thing, right now. Anyone that has just started taking this drug, heed my heart felt advise: Get off from it as quickly as possible.
I was only on it for 52 days. I have read how people stay on this sh!t for years! I now know why. Its so easy to forget that you are taking a very POWERFUL opiate. People get the illusion that they are "clean" when they start taking it. WRONG! You are clean only after you have STOPPED taking it, and stay clean off of everything, period!
Suboxone will fool people into a false sense of security. Because you don't get high off it, people think that it's not an opiate. I think not,, my little pumpkins. Sub is a wicked @ss drug, that has incredibly long staying power. It's been almost three weeks, and I'm just now starting to feel "right". Granted, I screwed up my landing by being in way too much of a hurry just to get off the stuff. I followed Roberts taper plan to the tee..... except for the last part. I took my last tiny piles of dust too quickly. I should have taken two more days with my last two drops. Story of my life, I swear to God. Hard way or no way.BTW, my last dose was .125mg. (Thats 1/32 of a 8mg pill).
The moral of this story is this: Suboxone WILL help you kick the W/D's from whatever opiate you are abusing. It will also deceive the innocent into believing that they are "cured". Don't believe it for a minute, me amigos, and amigas. Follow Roberts taper plan completely , and you WILL succeed.
Bev made note that "anticipation" will make an addict forget to "stay the course" and take it one day at a time. Wise words right there.
Well this post is turning into a yawner. I will post again soon. I have been back to work the last week, so all is good. Take care everybody.
