Default thanks

thanks dave--i am glad i asked before i took these. i have been two weeks off of lortabs and my back is really hurting. i couldn't find much info on darvocet Addiction--it seems to be mostly hydrocodone-oxy-ultram. It sucks that us addicts are in this situation when we are in pain! i can't believe i got myself into this mess..............................lins

Default addiction

I have been wondering the same thing. i have never heard of anyone addicted to darvocet alone. I used to have an oxycontin addiction (about 100 mg's a day and sometimes more). Now i only take four darvocets a day for neck pain. I don't really seem to get a buzz or anything-although it did help with the anxiety from oxycontin withdrawal. Do you think i will have a problem when i quit taking 4 darvocets a day? i do not want to go through the terrible withdrawal agaain. Anyone have any experience in this area or know anything about it? thanks, steve

Darvocet (propoxyphene) was very popular in the 70's and early 80's. It's a very weak opiate and has very little pain killing qualities. There was a study out that said tylenol extra strength was a better pain killer then propoxyphene. It is also similiar to methadone although thousands of times weaker. The problem propoxyphene had was that it killed alot of people who took it and drank. Sally Jesse Rapheal(sp) had a daughter in the early 80's die from propoxyphene and alcohol. It was later ruled a accidental suicide. So that's about all I know about propoxyphene other than up here in Canada it was called 642's.I started out in the early 80's abusing 642's and it was the start of my 23 years of active addiction....Dave
