Question A Couple of Questions

Just wondering:

1. Does Suboxone show up in drug testing? I am on 4 mg a day, trying to taper down. I don't have any upcoming drug tests, I was just wondering.

2. Once we are off the Sub, is the tolerance to the Norco/Lortab's gone? For instance if I had to take 2 10/325 pills before to feel relief, would 1 pill be adequate?
No, I am NOT planning on taking any pain pills. Sometimes I just sit around and come up with these "What if" questions. I guess I was just wondering if the Suboxone "restarts" our tolerance back down to normal.
Lately I have not been having any pain. Apparently that Lyrica is working.

Thanks,

Hugs

1. A standard drug test like a 5 panel or even a 9 panel UA will not detect the buprenorphine in suboxone. It has to be a more expensive test that is more specific to buprenorphine. It will simply go undetected in most tests.

2. Your tolerance would reduce after not using for two or three months obviously. But it would also build right back up to where it was when you stopped very quickly with any abuse. Been there more than once, trust me it comes right back quickly as soon we get high a few times. It's evil and never goes away. We simply can't use anymore ... at least I can't.

" What if " questions got me into trouble. I finally had to realize that I can't use and I don't even need to sit around and day dream about when I was high. Play the tape all the way through and you would be right back here again like so many others just like me.

Lyrica is a good effective medication for lots of people, while some don't do well with it just like any other medication. It seems to work better for more people than neurontin does from what I've read. Can't speak for everyone obviously. That's one of the reasons it's being used so much now. Some meds we just have to try and see which group we fall into. Glad it's working so well for you, Kat. God bless.

I'm curious about this, just because I don't know, but wouldn't suboxone/buprenorphine show up positive as an opiate on a drug screen? If not, why not?

I'm not a scientist or a dr but I can tell you for sure that a standard UA drug test will not detect buprenorphine. That I know for a fact. I had the exact same question as you when I first learned about suboxone and it made NO sense to me either that buprenorphine would not show up, but it doesn't on a standard UA.

I don't have a link saved (like I should for reference ) but different seemingly similar drugs are structured differently molecularly. It takes a test that is specific to buprenorphine to show up as such. I will find and save the link for future reference and will post it when I have time later to look it up. Sorry I can't do better right now. God bless.

Default I knew it!!

I knew my friend Robert would be the one to answer my question. But I also knew he would be the one to basically tell me not to "think" so much. Robert I promise I am not in any way contemplating taking those pills ever again. In retrospect, I absolutely HATE that life and what it all brings with it. It really was a "What if...." question. Thanks for keeping tabs on me. It means more than you'll ever know.

Hugs,
Kat
