Default Chronic Back Pain

Hello-
Has anyone ever been treated for a slipped or ruptured disc? What meds did you take to manage pain? I've been taking lorcet/10 for breakthru pain, but I found it isn't managing the pain, and definitely doing nothing to help the stiffness in my back and leg. Any advice? What should I say to my doc so he takes me seriously?

What kind of Doc. are you seeing? All pain meds work differently on on all people. What exactly is wrong with your back, what is the doc suggesting you do and what are you actually doing? I have had 3 back surgeries in the last 14 years and would love to help.

Ive been through it all. been to every kind of doctor you can image. The thing i found that works best is if you are completing honest with them, i was always scared if i told them that one pain pill worked better then another or if i was taking more then they i thought i should i would get cut off...surprisingly telling them the truth does the exact opposite, you are paying them money and you need to tell them what hurts, what you think will fix it and tell them they need to do it or you will find a new doctor that will help you. If your not already going to a pain doctor i would find one, they are more open minded since all they do all day is deal with this kind of thing.
I know exactly how you feel though and i promise if you dont give up you will find relief someday..may take awhile though.
