I'm not a doctor, is 185/120 is alarming. Sounds like you know what you are doing & what would prompt a visit to the E.R. I've never had high BP due to WD's, just heart palpitations (trigeminy).

Hope your BP lowers quickly. If not, I suggest you head to the ER or Urgent Care.

Hot shower/bath has usually been great for helping with my blood pressure too. Glad you're improving. I have never had it elevate my heart rate though. Does that happen often? I am unable to follow the logic in the heart rate reaction. God bless.

I also have been having high BP since quitting the pills and starting the Suboxone. It used to be normal. I been checking it at work every day and it's been 149/100. My pulse has also skyrocketed from the 80's to 105 or so. Hope this is just temporary...................

Elevated blood pressure during opiate detox is totally normal. Remember that just a short time ago you were taking a BIG bunch of hydro every day. You're still not out of opiate detox yet.

The increased heart rate is probably due to a little stress or anxiety from the detox as well. Suboxone usually takes care of our w/d symptoms but using the least effective dose like we do here can leave us with a few little minor symptoms. Such a small price to pay .....

Of course this is a temporary condition. It's very unlikely that it's due to the subs. Using suboxone can cause a little anxiety but most of it's due to the opiate detox. When you are totally over the opiate detox this will likely improve. Hang in there. You've been doing great. God bless.

Default Robert???

How long then does the opiate detox last for? When I went to that first dr visit to get the Sub, he gave me those in his office and said, "Ok you're now off of the vicodin". He made it sound like it's a quick process. I figures the BP was probably from the opiate thing. I remember trying to cut back a few times and it jumped then too. Strange? Oh and by the way I tapered yesterday to what I think was 11/2 mg twicw a day. When you're cutting up those big 8 mg tablets it is so hard to tall. It may have been 1 mg. Iknow if I cut back too much and feel the W/D's I can have a sliver if need be. Trust me I have many of those from all of the cutting and chopping. Can you beleive I am still on my first bottle? And I still probably have at least a third of it left.

Hugs,
Kat

In your case it could last for two or three weeks realistically before all symptoms are gone. You were taking like 60 pills a day? Think about that. I'm not judging you, I did the same thing and for a lot longer than you. But we can't expect this to be over in a few days. The very worst symptoms alone can last over a week if someone has a really bad history.

Use the slivers just like you said. The main thing is try to do the same amount each day. If you are light by .5mg that is okay if you can handle it with no symptoms. Your dr will be shocked when this is all over. Perhaps it will teach him a lesson that people don't need so much. God bless.
