Default Anyone been on Prozac?

Hi all,

I am new to this board and am very thankful to find such valuable information on different medications. I have a question:

I was on 10 mg Lex and 300 Wellbutrin for post-partum (sp) and depression is in my family. Mid-August I decided to quit, I was just wanting to not be on any meds anymore and wanted a more "freeer" (is that a word) life. I however then had been having problems with my Irritable Bowel Syndrome Constipation(IBS)....but I didn't know that Lex was good for IBS at the time. I had a bowel movement (BM) everyday on Lex and now about once a week if I'm lucky. :0(

Anyhow, my digestive system is all out of whack. So my Dr put me on Prozac and that is seeming to help some. I am wondering if any of you have experienced this and at what dose to take? I just starting taking 30 mg today. I've been on 10 mg for about three weeks, then 20 (which I was very tired at this dose) and now 30 mg today, since I haven't been having a bowel movement (BM) in a couple of days I thought if I start to increase my dose I will have a BM. On Lexapro, I was like clockwork. I am wondering if Prozac will be the same results, but I need to wait awhile?

I did like 10 mg Lexapro and have had good results from it. I am wondering about switching back to Lexapro. I had no real problems from withdrawl. Can any of you relate with IBS and SSRI drugs?

I do have to add that since being off Lexapro I have lost 10 lbs. So I am hoping that an increase in Prozac will do the trick for IBS-C, and the generic form is only $8/month which is awesome for my pocket book. Any suggestions with Prozac and IBS-C?
Thanks!
