Default Anxiety disorder? Please help! ?

I'm a teenager who suffers from extreme anxiety. I work myself up over small things, i get angry very easily, i'm often agitated, i shake a lot and my heart pounds, i get really stressed out, and i have severe fear over small things. I had been taking lexapro for 3 years and quit about a month ago because of its awful side effects. It seemed to kind of help me cool down, but now that i'm off i'm getting panic attacks. I don't want to start on more pills, but i'm not sure where to turn. how can i cope with it and help myself to be more optomistic and less angry?

First, make sure to surround yourself with positive people. That often makes it easier to think positively. They say that exercise and breathing techniques can help, so you might want to try yoga, or walking every day. What's really helped me is talking about it with people close to me. Letting them know what i'm going through and that I need their support. Also if there is some kind of support group in your area, or counseler that you can see, you should try it out. Sometimes it's nice not to feel like the only one who's having anxiety.

    Hello marlowa,
I don't think the person you are responding to is still around. He only posted just once and that was from last year in November. Hope he is doing better.
    Great advice though!
