Default Addicted to PainKillers

Hello, I'm hoping that I can find some help here. My daughter who just turned 21 and is a mother of my 1 yr old granddaughter is addicted to Vicodin. The problem besides the obvious is that she is getting the Vicodin from my Ex. I have told my Ex to stop giving them to her but she doesn't listen. Now my daughter is over there almost
everyday. I don't get to see my granddaughter anymore because she is always at the Ex's house. My ex has had this prescription for years and doesn't need them anymore but her Dr. keeps renewing her prescription whenever she calls him. This is killing me!!! What can I do to stop my ex from giving them to my daughter or her Dr. prescribing her anymore to her? Where do I go to get help for my Daughter? Her husband told me that she is taking about 40+ pills a week. I fear that my granddaughter may not be getting the care she
needs. Please help me!!!
H.

Well first, I would call the doctor's office and inform them of exactly what is going on with this med. If they still keep prescribing it, then call the DEA, they will want the docs office to explain why they keep giving them when they were warned what she was doing with them.

Your daughter needs help, rehab or something.

My information is not guaranteed correct. I do not get them right all the time, but I do enjoy the hunt~

I agree with zippysgoddess!!!Call the doctors office and tell them he is giving her his prescription. It's very dangerous to give out opiates. If she takes to many by mistake then she could lie down for a nap and stop breathing. This is serious and you have every right to do what you can to stop this especially when there is a child involved...Good luck and let us know how you made out......Dave

Finally my pain is under control!!!!!!!

Be aware, calling the Dr. and stopping the refills won't be the end of it. She'll be angry and desperate when her supply is suddenly cut off. She will need to deal with major withdrawals and a possibly a tapering plan. She may need a Dr.'s help to get thru this. Hopefully she will be cooperative and discreet, she could lose her child if things go sideways and human services gets wind of this.

She is obviously addicted. Rough road ahead. Good Luck.
