I've worked with several people coming off heroin using
suboxone. I'm from Texas and lots of them have been with tar. I honestly can't tell you lots of difference with white vs tar as far as how suboxone would differ with them. In my experience I would say that the tar is probably a little more of a challenge depending on the quality of what you're using obviously.
I can tell you that if you follow the COWS worksheet exactly for determining that your level of w/d is at least an accumulative score of 26 or more that is a foolproof method of knowing you're ready to begin induction without fear of precipitated w/d. You don't want precipitated w/d I promise you.
I'm guessing based only on what you've said here that you're probably looking at a couple days,
possibly a little sooner to be in significant w/d. It's impossible to give you an exact amount of time as that is what makes it different on this forum. We don't do that. We move forward when you have the appropriate symptoms and everyone really is different. It shouldn't be a one-size-fits-all deal. Some people stabilize during induction at 6mg while others take 12mg. Just have to wait and see how the induction works out.
Just follow the guideline on the COWS worksheet and you'll have nothing to worry about. I can walk you right through this. Coming primarily off tar it will actually take us a process of four days to do the induction the way I do it. The first day will be the most intense beginning while you are so sick. But I will have you TOTALLY out of w/d the very first day within hours. That is a guarantee. We determine your lowest effective dose so you do this at the smallest possible dose and don't make the mistake of taking 24mg or some nonsense like lots of people get lured into at the dr. All of this is done over the 2nd - 4th days after you are totally stabilized on the first day. It's really not a big deal once you're stabilized. God bless.
