Default ZYPREXA

I would like to know if there has been anyone who has had a child on Zyprexa and seen increased agitation. My son has multiple disorders including bi-polar and we have seen a tremendous amount of agitation and horrible behavior since going back on the pill form. He was on Zydis prior to this. Any help would be great. Thank you .

My son is taking Zyprexa. I know that agitation
can be one of the side effects from this drug, although
he doesn't seem to suffer from it right now but I think he suffered from it at the beginning, but he had other side effects,
such a sleepiness, and weight gain.

As well, make sure that your Doctor takes regular blood tests,
as the drug company just announced last year that there is a concern of developing diabetes on this drug.

I would consider trying to find another medication....as that restlessness is an awful feeling, if that doesn't clear up.

Good luck,

You should certainly read up on the side effects of Zyprexa and have your son monitored for any signs if diabetes. You should discuss alternatives with your doctor to see if there are any meds that are as effective but don't have that risk.

If you want articles on Zyprexa, see: http://www.monheit.com/zyprexa. There are links there to medical information.
