Default Zonegran

My doctor put me on zonegran when I told him I was desperate to lose 20 pounds. (He also treats me for sleep problems.) He told me the zonegran was really taking weight off his patients, one had lost 100 pounds! I trust this man, he's always been an excellent doctor and he does not believe in giving loads of meds. Has anyone ever heard of this stuff? Thank you.

Zonegran is actually approved by the FDA to prevent seizures. The weight loss benefits of this drug were discovered quite by accident as patients who were taking Zonegran noticed they were dropping pounds. The FDA has not approved this drug for weight loss, so this is considered an “off-label” indication.
