Default Zonegran

Hi! I am new here and would like to introduce myself. My name is Laurie. Right now I am on a ton of medications and I am going to stop taking some of them. I have a question. I am losing a ton of hair which I just found out is a side effect of the [u] Topamax</u> I am taking. I also just started taking [u]Zonegran</u>. Does anyone know if [u]Zonegran</u> causes hair loss also? Both of these meds are of the same type and I really don't know how I ended up on both of them. I am being treated for depression and grieving for a specific reason. I'm sure You will see me around here a lot as I try to eliminate some of these drugs I am on and believe me I am on a bunch

Hi Laurie,

I too just began taking Zonegran. I have also taken topamax for a LONG time in the past. I didn't have hair loss with topamax, but I was always cloudy headed from it [xx(] . I haven't been taking zonegran long enough to find any side effects yet, but I am also taking a very small dose for essential tremor. And believe me, you are not the only one on a ton of meds in this world...I take TEN various medications daily for multiple disorders/disabilities. So don't ever believe the stigma that people may place on you. Medications are used to help and heal, and that's a good thing . Feel free to ask me any questions. Take care

David

Hi Laurie
Alopecia is listed as an adverse reaction (infrequent - occurring between 1 in 100 and 1 in 1000 patients) in the PDR info for Zonegran.
Found the info at
http://www.drugs.com/PDR/Zonegran_Capsules.html
