Default Zoloft, Wellbutrin ?'s

Is it a proven fact that anti-depressants cause short-term memory loss? In particular, zoloft and wellbutrin. My doctor says they don't, but one of my other doctors told me they do. I'm so confused. I don't know who to believe.

I have been on different ssri's, the type of drugs you mentioned, from a few different doctors and no one has mentioned short-term memory loss to me. I've read where it actually may help with things like memory- which may be the drug or other factors like better sleep, diet, etc. I've been on 100mg/day of Zoloft for a year now and haven't experienced any noticeable ST memory loss. Wait, what was your question again? Sorry bad joke...... but my experience is real. I hope you find something that works for you. Don't underestimate the power of good nutrition and exercise too. Best of luck- jp

I having big time social anxiety, i'm scared to talke to people cause i can't seem to get my thougts together i'm so nervous. I also don't feel like getting out of bed and the wellbutrin helps me do that so far. but It seems to make me dumb at the same time. I just got on it. I've heard you might have to wait a couple months before you stop feeling like a crazyass on wellbutrin

Yeah- it always takes about 2-4 weeks for my body to adjust when first taking these drugs. I've actually taken both Wellbutrin and am currently am on Zoloft, which is working out pretty well for me. It allowed me to get over the initial anxiety, depression hump (where it sounds like you're at) and then i really focused on better nutrition, exercise and all drugs out of my system- felt great after a month of this, much better than anything the pill could do by itself. So there is hope! I wish you the best.... I know how hard it is to try to hold down a job, relationships, etc. when battling depression, addiction issues.
