Default Zoloft, and Naproxen...

I am currently taking zoloft for depression, and I have also been prescribed some anti inflammatory's (naproxen) for my shoulder, yet I just read that zoloft interacts with naproxen. What are the possible reactions from this combination? Also, I would like to know what ill effects could be caused by an overdose? I ask because I accidentally took much more than I was supposed to one time and it was...how should I put it...a wierd experience, felt really funny. My pupils seemed to have dialated during this also. Is there any liver damage involved or anything of the sort? Thanks for the help in advance.

Yes, there can be a reaction, here's the info:

"A possible side effect from naproxen (especially with chronic use and the use of high doses) is gastrointestinal bleeding or the development of ulcers. Although the cause of this interaction is not clearly understood, sertraline, when taken with naproxen, may increase this risk of gastrointestinal bleeding. If possible, avoid taking sertraline with naproxen. If you must take these medications together, your doctor should monitor you closely for gastrointestinal side effects and adjust the dose of these medications if needed. Discuss this potential interaction with your healthcare provider at your next appointment, or sooner if you think you are having problems.

This interaction is poorly documented and is considered moderate in severity."

This if from the interaction checker at http://www.drugdigest.org/DD/Interac...,4109,,00.html

However, this is not a documented or definitively proven reaction, just a possibility, so it has happened very rarely and they have not been able to prove it was from taking the two drugs combined. It would be best to speak with your doctor if you are concerned about it.

Which did you take too much of, or was it both? One experience will not likely do any permanent body damage, to do that you would have had to have taken far more than you did and if you were at that point you would have known as you would have been in the hospital, not at home to observe your symptoms.

My information is not guaranteed correct. I do not get them right all the time, but I do enjoy the hunt~
