Question zoloft...

Does Zoloft stop working after so long? I have been on it 20 or more years and take 200 to 300 mg daily. I am still very depressed. It helps some but not like before

I am on 100 mg of zoloft daily, as well as welbutrin xl. The zoloft stopped working by itself. Ask your doctor if you need to add something to it, or change all together. Good luck

Ba,
If you feel that the zoloft has stopped working, by all means, speak up and talk to your doctor. Only you (the patient) really know how you feel and it is up to you to convey that to the doctor. Most people dread telling their doctor how they're feeling or how much pain they're in, but honestly, doctor can only treat to the symptoms they see unless patients give them more to go on. Never hesitate to advocate for yourself. Good luck.

Psyched is right. If we are not our own advocates no one else is going to be. You have to tell your dr what is happening. There is a difference in explaining whats going on to your dr and some addict trying to talk the dr into prescribing meds that are not in their best interest. Drs are not psychic. They depend on you to tell them how you are feeling especially with this type of medication and a condition like depression. They need you as much as you need them to make things better. God bless.
