I have just experienced pain in my right knee and hip and at times lower back. Have not had MRI. Diagnoses is possible disc problem or bursitis in hip or PT band. I'm doing physical theraphy 2wice a week which seems to help. I have been on Zocor (10 mg) for 2 years. At my request, my doctor switched me to Lipitor. Now I have constipation and insomnia. Could these be side effects?

Yes, lipitor can and does cause muscle pain. I took lipitor for 3 yrs b4 my dr would acknowledge my pains were real. It kept telling me it was arithis. He even gave me a referral to physical rehab. Once i ended up in the er and was taken off lipitor, my pain ceased. It took about athree months b4 all the pain left me.

Also, i was never told to take coenzymes 10 bcuz statins depletes it.
