I have talked to many doctors and pharmacists and noone could answer my question.............hopefully there is someone informed here thay can.
My daughter is weaning off of
Lexapro, down to 15 Mg but having horrible withdrawal effects, Mania, nightmares, severe stomach cramping, sweating, chills, anxiety, insomia, restlessness, mood liability, crying spells. We are weaning by 1/2 mg a month and the side effects of withdrawal are horrible.
My question is can she take extended doses of
Zithromax for lyme disease? I know that
Biaxin caused a reaction with the P450 cytochrome system. I was told Ketec also would cause a reaction.
No one, even pfizer knew which pathways Zithromax used. Will Zithromax cause the serum levels of Lexapro to be elevated due to using the p450 pathways in the liver.
Since my daughter is having such a drastic reaction, I do not want any antibiotic that will increase the lexapro level. Any suggestions for late stage lyme disease and the P450 system?
