Smile Zegerid/Prilosec question

I have been on numerous reflux meds, one of them being Prilosec. I had a bad reaction to it--Rash, itching and facial swelling. I was now put on Zegerid. When I got home I saw that it had the same ingredients as the Prilosec. I've taken 3 doses so far and have not had a reaction. Does anyone know what makes these 2 meds different? Thanks

Dolly,
I really don't know what the difference is, but I do know they are virtually the same thing with different brand names. The drug is omeprazole so they all have the same possible side-effects. At least you found the one that seems to be right for you. Good luck.

I think that the zegerid isprilosec and alka seltzer combined. I take the zegerid along with aciphex for severe reflux.
