Default withdrawal from vioxx?

My mother is 102 years old and in a nursing home. Her general health is good, memory pretty good too. She was taken off vioxx the end of Sept and lately has been having periods of feeling very hot. My question is....Could this be a withdrawal symptom to having been taken off vioxx???

I took vioxx for a yr but never noticed being warm or hot as a side effect. I stopped taking it bcuz it wasn't helping my pain and i later had a heart attack.

What are the nursing home staff doing for you mom? Isn't there a dr on call at this nursing home

Comgrats on your mom being 102, im still trying to make 53. With all these killer meds on the market, we younger ppl should be so lucky as your mother.

Thanks for your reply.....I do not live in the same Province as my mother so have to get the info over the phone!! I asked if they thought it might be a withdrawal sympton but they didn't think so, but didn't sound too sure! Yes there is a Dr. there and this will be brought up for his thoughts. It could also be the new med she has been given to replace the vioxx...can't remember the name.
