Default What's behind the AndroGel warnings?

Hi!
I'm trying to find out the reasons for the repeated instructions that AndroGel should NOT be applied to my (male) breast area/nipples, scrotum, and penis. Anybody know why? My handle also works with yahoo.com in case you'd like to reply there instead of publicly, here. Thanks!

I take Androgel. I think the warnings have something to do with the different types of skin and the different thickness of skin on the parts of your body. Your skin acts as a reservoir and dispenses the Andrgel to the rest of your body slowly over many hours. The thicker the skin, the more long lasting the effect of the dose you spread on your body.

Default Skin thickness = "slow release" absorption of Androgel?

Hi! thanks for your idea on skin thickness and Androgel absorption. It seems to me that if what you say is true, then the drug manufacturer would want their product applied to both thick and thin skin areas so that the hormone would continually be supplied, a sort of timed release mechanism. This is not the case according to the directions supplied with Androgel, though. So, I'm afraid I still don't understand what their concern is and the rationale for it.

Also the placement(ie:nipples, testical areas) have to do with the estrogen factor of TRT(testosterone replacment therapy)..If the patches/gel were placed on such areas they can either create gyno(brest development in males) and excess estrogen being places in these spot on the body...Just stick to the normal spots and you'll be fine...
