Klonopin (Clonazepam) is a CNS sedative in the Benzodiazapine class. It is a relativly long acting benzo that is roughly 10x as potent as valium (1mg klonopin = 10mg valium approx). Klonopin has more muscle-relaxing properties than other benzos, and is prescribed as an anti-counvulsant and muscle relaxant. Orally disintegrating klonopin wafers are also availiable for treatment of anxiety. Klonopin is a schedule IV controlled substance in the U.S.
