Default Wellbutrin SR, Bloodshot Eyes

I started taking Wellbutrin SR 150mg three days ago for the prevention of migraines. The very first day I noticed that the insides of my eyes looked red, like I had pinkeye, only I didn't have any other pinkeye symptoms like itching, irritation, or a discharge. When I say the insides, I mean on my left eye, to the right of my pupil, and on my right eye, to the left of my pupil. Tonight is the third night, and the redness is still there. I lifted up my eyelid on the left eye and looked to the left so I could see more, and it looks horrible! It looks like it should be bleeding or something, or at least hurt a lot. There's an extremely red vein going up my eye, and the "white" is more like dark pink, and it looks swollen. It's the same on the right eye, only not as bad. I've had pinkeye before, and the whites were never this red, and it was spread all over instead of just on the inner part.

I looked at the side effects of Wellbutrin SR, and couldn't even find conjunctivitis... the closest thing I found is an allergic reaction, but I have no itching and my face isn't swelling and I can breath fine. Has anyone had any side effect from Wellbutrin SR that were like this?

Also, I have insomnia from it. Does that go away?

I'm on Wellbutrin, but haven't had an eye problem. It sound bad. Please see your doctor and possibly an opthamologist. I did have trouble sleeping at first too, but that subsided.

Yeah, I went to the doctor and he said he doesn't think it's related to the Wellbutrin because my eyes aren't itchy at all. He says the Wellbutrin can cause itchy eyes. He says my eyes are inflamed, but he doesn't know why, he said it could be a virus but he didn't sound very concerned, probably because I said there was absolutely no pain and he said my pupils are fine. He gave me Acular eyedrops.

I'm having problems with the Wellbutrin side effects... mostly insomnia. Last night I fell asleep at 9:20pm, I was extremely sleepy, I didn't even get up to turn off the light. Then I woke up at 12:45am, and was wide awake. I couldn't fall asleep after that until 7:00am, and then when I did I was asleep for an HOUR before waking up again. That's ridiculous! I'm one of those people who usually sleeps for nine solid hours each night. How long did it take for your insomnia to get better? Because school starts in a week.

When I woke up this morning, I noticed that I was breathing much more rapidly than I should have been for having just woken up. I layed in bed for awhile and tried to slow it down, but it wouldn't. I got up and walked around but it still stayed the same. I just called the doctor and left a message to ask him about that.

I also have a really hard time focusing on anything and a hard time remembering names. The doctor told me Wellbutrin is used for adult ADD, that seems odd if it has this side effect.

Okay, I noticed after I left a message for the doctor that my breathing got normal about an hour after I took the Wellbutrin SR... and when the nurse called back, she said they were gonna call in a prescription for 75mg pills to take twice a day because it was a withdrawal side effect from the 150mg pills wearing off everyday. She also said to take Tylenol Sinus Nighttime to help me sleep. I really hope that works.

So I have bad insomnia, dizzy when I stand up, feeling really nauseous, can't focus on anything, hard to remember things, today I've started having shaky hands, and I've had four migraines in the five days that I've been on Wellbutrin SR (over twice as many as normal). The best part is, I'm on it in the hopes that it'll prevent migraines. I really hope these side effects go away, especially the migraines, because that would defeat the whole purpose.
