Vytorin lists vision problems as one of its side effects. Any one else taking Vytorin have vision problems and what kind did you have? A week ago I suffered a vitreous hemorrhage out of the blue. Dark splotches and floaters came across my left eye in the evening with just a small flash of light and in the morning there were much more with a little haze as well. I ended up having a tear and hole in my retina. Fortunately it was repaired by a freeze dry method by a retina specialist in 48 hours. I am 57, never smoked or drank, 5"6" and never gone above 120 lbs. I am in pretty good health I think, no diabetes etc . I try to eat healthy, especially since my mother died from heart disease at age 72. I take Vytorin 10/40 mg for my high cholesterol which is a genetic thing. This last year on Vytorin my chlolestrol has been very good. I was told this eye problem is just something that happens when getting older. My question is, since one of the warnings of side affects of Vytorin are vision changes,could the vytorin have caused my eye problem? P.S. Thanks to Webmd, I looked up floaters in the eye the day it occurred, and it told me to get to an eye specialist immediately, which I did.
