Default vicoprefen

18 months ago after s****ing infection off lungs, my dr. prescribed hydrocodone 5/500. It took one year for effectiveness of that to wear off. after 6 more months and trying various other drugs, tramadol, etc., am now taking vicoprefen - Dr. prescribed 4 @ day. I have to take 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening to get any relief and then fill in the middle of the day with tylenol extra strength and/or ibroprofen. Can anyone tell me what's next? A second opinion from another Dr. suggested increasing the hydrocodone to 7.5/500 and or going to percocet. Would like to stay off actefomine (sp?) if at all possible. What's next? My surgeon said that in 20% of my type of surgery the pain never goes away. I'm about at my wits end and my company Dr. says the pain is "subjective" i.e., he is only concerned with addiction. Can anyone recommend anything I can tell this Dr. ? thanks. Spike

Percocet is only good for short term pain.If you could take oxycodone (12 hr percocet) and then take percocet for breakthrough pain then that would be the ideal way to go.Try and get on a 12 hour (sustained release) narcotic painkiller.Tylenol is the demon here,it's so bad for your liver.....Dave
