i have a friend who is a heroin addict and was on suboxone he stopped taking it two days ago and is soon going to use agian possibly today. my question is how long does taking 16 mgs a day of suboxone last from keeping you from getting high after you stop because i have to know if i can stop him please help......

look i have been taking suboxone for about 6 months now i take 24 mg witch is 4 pills aday and after two day with out it i will start getting sick but if he takes heroin it will send him in to with draws the blocker stayes in system up to a month u need to keep him on the suboxone i have done every drug there is and i think this was god sent to find the suboxone so if u want to keep him normal thats the only way its the only thing that will and has keep my life and pockets full he just has to have a little will power to stay strate and your help plust talk to him tell him the good of suboxone and the downs of herione hope this helps ex drugey

Wrong, it won't put him into withdrawal if he takes H on SubO, it will just block its euphoria. Now the Naloxone in the SubO, if he tries to inject or insufflate the pill will reverse the effect of the Buprenorphine and that could put him into W/D.
I've read it takes 4 days off the SubO before other opioids can take effect.
