Default Verapamil Side Effect

I have CFH and so verapamil was removed and now I have an instant adrenaline reaction that caused me to strike out without thinking. Can anyone out there verify that Verapamil delays the adrenaline response. I need this to convince the judge that I struck out without any congnizent thought. I didn't know that the removal of Verapamil would cause this problem, but I do now, and can compensate for it, I hope. I have not be able to verify that Verapamil will delay the adrenalin reaction, I just know that is does. I also was on hydroclorthiaziad and triamterene for a dierutic, and it was changed to lasix's. I was on this medication for at least 10 years, I'm now 64 yrs old.

Hi, I take verapamil 240mg also. i have no proof it causes you to strike out at others but it happened to me. I was in grocery store and a man pushed me and cut in front of me in line, without thinking i clocked him with my walking cane. It happened right in front of two police officers. Boy was my face[redV] The National Institute of Health listed "pyschosis (sp) as a side effect. Maybe you could get some info from your dr or pharmacist.

Hi well I hope I can help you. All of the information I am giving you is from The PDR Nurse's Drug Handbook 2002 edition. Some of the side effects related to mental function are confusion, sleep disturbances, depression, amnesia, paranoia, psychoses, hallucinations, jitteriness, decreased neuromuscular transmission, and blurred vision. The nurse should also assess the patient's mental status while on this medication. Good luck!
