What other treatments is the drug valtrex used for besides herpes.

Valtrex (valacyclovir) is FDA approved for use in the treatment and suppression of genital herpes, shingles, and cold sores.

Other uses for valacyclovir are being tested in clinical trials. You can find more information searching for valacyclovir at ClinicalTrials.gov
