Default use of Penicillin V Potassium during Pregnancy

I am 33 weeks pregnant, and went for vaginal smear test for any bacterial infection. The result indicates that the bacteria is commonly seen in rectum, and about 20% women has this infection. This bacteria has appeared in vagina.

I am informed that this kind of bacteria can affect the baby while vaginal birth. I am planning for ceasarean delivery.

Please advise me if It is necessary to take ABBOCOLLIN VK "Penicillin V Potassium". If yes, then does it affcet the baby while in Uterus.

I appreciate your advise.

Penicillins are not known to be harmful during pregnancy.

But did your doctor suggest using pen V to treat the condition??
