Default Two Weeks Out from Methadone Use - Sleep Issues

Welp, mentally I feel better than I have in years... but the sleep issues are ********ing driving me up the wall. It's absolutely horrid. I am taking a very challenging summer course right now at school, and it is nearly impossible to sleep.

I took four Bennedryl last night, and had drank alcohol earlier and was up until at least 4:00 am. I am a sleep apnea patient and attempting to sleep with the mask on isn't even a possibility - hell, falling asleep WITHOUT it on is difficult enough.

When I first kicked I used a MG of Xannie for like 10 days to sleep and it worked like a charm. I almost have no choice but to try other pills to sleep but I don't wanna trade one thing for another.

I put in a request for Ambien CR yesterday, so hopefully they will fill it today though I've heard stories of even Ambien not working for sleep with opiate w\d

Scared and nervous...not sure what to do about this.

I think it's okay to take ambien short term following your detox. Just realize you're only doing it trying to get past this rough time and don't refill the prescription. A month should make this better.

It can take a while for sleep to return to normal after using opiates for years. You don't have to be a martyr because you're stopping the opiates. Just use common sense when using the ambien. God bless.

I have taken Ambien in the past and WoW, the effect it had on me was pretty strange.
It did help me sleep, a lot better than lunesta did but about the first three nights that I took it
It would give me very vivid hallucinations.
They werent just minor, seeing shadows or things out of the corner of my eye hallucinations either, they were very clear ones
For example, I still recall looking at a stuffed animal, a Teddy Bear i think and it would animate, move around, walk etc..
The worst side effect for me was the one that most people have and it happened twice that i recall, the second time was what prompted me to trash them.
On one occasion, I was "up" for at least two hours before i actually "woke" up.
I remembered thinking that I needed to make some coffee and right about that time I actually became aware and there was a huge cup of coffee on the table in front of the chair i was sitting on.
I had already been up, showered, made and ate breakfast and was sitting at my computer surfing the net and drinking coffee but in my mind, I had just woken up a few minutes ago.
The other time it happened was similar but it was enough to convince me to get rid of them.
I just feel fortunate that I didnt decide to get in my truck and go out for breakfast.
I didnt have that problem with lunesta but it didnt work that well on me and it seemed to increase my anxiety.

Yeah, they gave me the 10MG pills, and I'm taking like two to get to sleep... at times it helps alot other times not a ton. Last night I was up and down and all around.

Thursday is three weeks off MDone and all other opiates, I hope the sleep thing gives in a little bit here.

The only thing that made me sleep really well was Xanex - I took 1MG for the first 10 nights I quit M-Done. It worked like an absolute charm but I am not going to continue to take it - as I fear more so than anything getting hooked to Benzos (though I never have, and hopefully never will enjoy the feeling)

I wouldn't mind being tired but I'm taking an extremely challenging class at Summer School right now, and focusing and doing all the work is enough of a challenge... nevermind being tired.

I would have to imagine after 3-4 weeks off the Doners, my sleep should become a bit easier. I never got myself into as much trouble as some have in the past, I peaked out at around 30-35 MG a day, and definitely took breaks in between using - even still, it took me for a ride.

I'm really, really hopeful my sleeping patterns return back to normal sometime in the near future, it'd be such a blessing.
