We discovered about 8 months ago that I have epilepsy and since for about 6 of those months I have been on Topamax. Before that I was taking Ortho-Micronor the birth control and was having a fine normal period. Since being on the topamax my birth control seems to not be regulating my cycles anymore. It has become more and more apparent over the last few months. It has gotten to the point where, the week I am supposed to be on my sugar pill I have nothing and then and week and a half to two weeks later I have my period while I am like half way through my pills. I also have migraines and that is why I was put on this specific birth control, but if I am taking a medicine that prevents migranes and helps seizures then can't I take a different birth control? Like one with estrogen? Something to regulate my cycles again and help keep everything right?
