About two weeks ago I had a root canal procedure as a result of a RAGING infection. Premeded with Penicillin and continued pencillin and vicodin after.
Ran out of Penicillin before infection was knocked down and inadvertently had a two day period without. Two days later regained penicillin and premeded for tool filling (was left open to drain) procedure.
Got extremely drowsy, enough so that I had to cancel dental apportment, took a nap and then woke up with hive swelling in face and jaw and within a short time airway swollen almost shut.
Rushed to hospital for an emergency trac...
Don't remember much of the next two days in ICU with total of 4 full days of enforced hospital "bedrest".
On day of release I was given a fairly high dosage, of clindamycin in capsule form. 83 capsules, take 3 - 4 times a days until exhausted.
Immediately noticed that these capasules were so HORRIBLY smelling that I could hardly get them past my nose and into my month.
Oh, well, Doctor knows best...
NOT...!!!
Body odor started smelling HORRID, very much like the clindamycin capsule odor. Three or four showers a day, SCHRUBBING showers and I still couldn't stand to be near myself.
On noon of the second day of the regimen, about an hour after taking the noon dose, I felt I had to lay down and relax or I would vomit. Forget that the bedclothes were already soaked, RECHING, from my body odor.
Had a few teaspoons of ice cream and vomit thread subsided somewhat. Notified the doctor of my adverse reaction and took pleasure, VERY great PLEASURE in his allowing me to dump the remaining capsules down the toilet, FLUSH!
It is now 5AM of the following day. I woke up to pee and can't get back to sleep due to having to lay with myself still in the residual horrible body odor.
Oh, well, off to the showers and another change of bedclothes.
Hope this ODOR subsides soon, VERY soon.
